Senate and Obama Disagree on Tax Divedends

Senate Democrats’ written proposal seeks to extend expiring income tax cuts for one year. Ninety-eight percent of households would receive the extension, while those earning $200,000 individually and $250,000 for married couples wouldn’t. Further, the Senate proposes setting the top tax rate on dividends at 23.8 percent versus President Barack Obama’s budget of 20 percentage points higher.
