Online Shopping is Going to Become More Expensive

A new bill in Congress proposes online businesses start collecting sales tax, no matter where a consumer logs in to shop. Technically consumers, who shop online, should be reporting sales tax from web purchases on their tax returns. But many don’t. Now states are backing this bill in order to fix holes in their budgets. Companies such as eBay, Overstock.com, and Facebook are fighting the bill. But, Amazon appears to be in support of it.
